If elected, Leronia Josey will be the first woman to serve on the Baltimore County Council in more than two decades. She is a lawyer and former president of the National Association of Black Women Attorneys with a long record of accomplished volunteer service in state and local appointive offices, including Chair of Baltimore County Board of Social Services; The University System of Maryland Board of Regents; Chair of the Baltimore County Commission on Human Relations; and the Maryland Higher Education Commission. Leronia faces a tough Primary against an incumbent who has been less than responsive to his community, and has been indicted for ethical issues while in office.

I want to serve the residents of this great district because I want to make a difference. I have the passion, skill and experience to produce for you. I will be your voice in Towson fighting for those things that matter to you. I will stay in constant contact with you and work to engage the community.

Working together we can make a world of difference. I want to help improve our schools and revitalize our commercial areas. Help bring jobs to the district, increase internships, and keep people in their homes(foreclosed); with the recession still with us we’ll have to find other ways to develop programs or do those things we want to do- create a community non-profit and go after grants to fund our own initiatives. We can do this if we decide to work collaboratively.

The DWPAC of MD announced its endorsement of Leronia A. Josey, candidate for Baltimore County 4th District Councilmanic seat. Ms. Josey shares the priorities and represents significant opportunities to maintain and grow the number of elected women in Maryland.

DWPAC of MD’s decision represented some difficult decisions and hard races, but its support is a commitment to provide resources needed to win.

The PAC calls on its network of over 2,000 women, leaders, elected officials and activists to support Candidate Josey and other endorsed candidates.
